SOS (Sharing Our Success)

In 2021, Whitehorse Community Thrift Store Society (WCTS) launched “SOS”, its “Sharing Our Success” program, as a way to share the financial success of the store with the community who supports it. 

This initiative is an opportunity for community non-profit organizations to apply for and share in the store’s success. 

"SOS" looks to fund projects or initiatives that align with the WCTS Society’s purposes:

• To promote diversion of waste from the landfill and facilitate the reuse, repair and repurposing of used goods
• To provide training, skills development, and work experience to persons with employment barriers
• To support the development of local arts and culture in Yukon (we place priority on events that promote diversion of waste or community integration) 
• To educate the public about how to reduce consumption and expenses, how to repair and re-purpose, and the importance of zero waste
• 
  

Applications are evaluated by a committee of volunteers and board members. The board of directors for WCTS  makes the final funding decisions. Please email wctssociety@gmail.com if you have questions.

Applications for our SOS grants will be accepted again in Spring 2027
